1. Turn on Select & Translate
Entry path: Review tab → Select & Translate
- Open a WPS Writer document.
- Click the Review tab on the top menu bar.
- Click Select & Translate to turn on the feature.

2. Translate selected text
Entry path: Task pane on the right → Translate
- Select the word, phrase, or sentence you want to translate.
- Choose Translate from the floating toolbar, or click Translate in the task pane on the right.
- View the translation result in the floating window or sidebar.
- Copy the translated text or insert it into the document if needed.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The translation result appears in a floating window or sidebar.
- What you can do next: You can copy the translation or insert it into the current document.

- Very short selections or recognition issues may affect the result.

3. Set translation languages
Entry path: Translation window
- Select the source language in the translation window.
- Select the target language, such as Chinese or English.
- Run the translation with the current language settings.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The selected languages are shown in the translation window.
- What you can do next: Future translations use the current language settings.
Tips While Using
- Language settings directly affect translation output.
- If auto-detection is not correct, switch the source language manually.
4. Adjust more translation settings
Entry path: ... icon at the top of the translation window
- Click the ... icon at the top of the translation window.
- Open the additional settings panel.
- Turn Word Definitions on or off as needed.
- Change the translation engine if needed.
- Adjust the font size in the translation interface.
- View translation history sessions.
- Turn Trigger translation on file word selection on or off in Translation Settings.
