1. Turn On Revision Mode

Path: Tools → Review → Start Revision

  1. Tap Tools at the bottom.
  2. Open the Review tab.
  3. Turn on Start Revision.
  4. Continue editing the document. Later edits will be recorded as revisions.

Success Check

  • Visual result: the Start Revision switch is on.
  • What happens next: when you type, delete, or change formatting, the edits are kept as revisions.

Notes

  • After you turn it on, later edits are recorded as revisions.
  • It is useful to enable this before formal review starts so edit history is not missed.

2. Show Revisions

Path: Tools → Review → Show Comments and Revisions

  1. Tap Tools at the bottom.
  2. Open the Review tab.
  3. Turn on Show Comments and Revisions.
  4. Tap revision content in the document to view details in the pop-up window.

Success Check

  • Visual result: revision marks or related prompts appear in the document.
  • What happens next: tapping a revision lets you view its details.

Notes

  • If the document does not already contain recorded revisions, turning on this switch may not show extra marks.
  • Before checking, confirm that Revision was turned on earlier and that edits were made.

3. Turn Off Revision Mode

Path: Tools → Review → Start Revision

  1. Tap Tools at the bottom.
  2. Open the Review tab.
  3. Turn off Start Revision.
  4. Continue editing the document. New edits will no longer be recorded as revisions.

Success Check

  • Visual result: the Start Revision switch is off.
  • What happens next: you can continue normal document editing.

Notes

  • Turning it off only stops new revisions from being recorded. Existing revision marks remain in the document.
  • If you still need to view earlier revisions, keep Show Comments and Revisions turned on.
