How-to Guide
1. Set Password Protection
Entry path: Tap the top-right “≡” icon → Document Encryption → Password Encryption toggle
- Open the document that you want to protect.
- Tap the top-right “≡” icon.
- Select Document Encryption from the list.
- Turn on the Password Encryption toggle.
- Set a password in the pop-up panel.
- Set an Open Password if you want to control who can view the file.
- Set a Modify Password if you want to control who can edit the file.
- Tap OK to finish.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The document saves the encryption settings.
- Next action available: The document will request the relevant password when it is opened or edited later.
Tips While Using
- Keep the password in a safe place. If you forget it, the document may no longer be accessible.
- Document Encryption currently supports password-based protection only.
2. Manage Existing Encryption Settings
Entry path: Tap the top-right “≡” icon → Document Encryption → update the current password settings
- Open the document whose encryption settings you want to manage.
- Tap the top-right “≡” icon.
- Select Document Encryption from the list.
- Turn off Set Open Password or Set Modify Password as needed.
- Tap Done to save the change.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The selected password restriction is updated.
- Next action available: The document will follow the new password rule for opening or editing.
Tips While Using
- Make sure the current password information is available before changing the settings.
- When a password option is turned off, the related access or editing restriction is removed.
