When using Open with Other Apps, the most common questions are about target app visibility, format compatibility, and opening failures; this section includes 4 common questions and a 3-term glossary.

FAQ

Why can't I see the target app?

  1. Confirm that the target app is already installed on your device.
  2. Confirm that the target app supports the current document format.
  3. Return to WPS and run Open with Other Apps again.
  4. If the app still does not appear, update the target app and try again.

Why does the formatting change after the file opens in another app?

  1. Check whether the target app fully supports the layout and elements in the current Writer document.
  2. If you want to keep the display as consistent as possible, choose a similar office or viewing tool first.
  3. For formatting-sensitive files, review fonts, paragraphs, and page layout in the target app.

Why does another app fail to open the file?

  1. Confirm that the target app supports the current file format.
  2. Check whether the target app version is outdated.
  3. If needed, convert the document to a format that the target app can recognize more easily and try again.
  4. Run Open with Other Apps again and test with another compatible app.

Will changes made in another app sync back to WPS automatically?

  1. After the file is opened in another app, automatic write-back depends on how that app saves files.
  2. If you need to keep the changes, confirm the save location and file name in the target app.
  3. Return to WPS and check the original file again to see whether you need to import or replace it manually.
