1. Insert an image from a local file

Feature entry: Insert → Picture → Local Picture

  1. Place the cursor where you want the image to appear.
  2. Click the Insert tab on the top menu bar.
  3. Click Picture and select Local Picture.
  4. Browse to the target image in the file picker.
  5. Select the image and click Open.

Success Criteria

  • The image appears near the current cursor position in the document.
  • You can select the image and continue moving or resizing it.

Tips While Using

  • Common formats such as JPG, PNG, GIF, and BMP are recommended.
  • If the document is protected, image insertion may not be available.

2. Drag and drop an image into a document

Feature entry: Drag an image file directly into the editing area

  1. Open the folder that contains the image.
  2. Select the target image file.
  3. Drag the file into the target position in the WPS Writer document.
  4. Release the mouse to complete the insertion.

Success Criteria

  • The image appears near the drop location.
  • The document remains editable after the image is inserted.

Tips While Using

  • Keep the target document open and visible before dragging the file.
  • If drag and drop does not work, use the local picture method instead.

3. Insert an online image

Feature entry: Insert → Picture → Online Picture

  1. Click the Insert tab.
  2. Click Picture and select Online Picture.
  3. Enter keywords in the search box.
  4. Select the image you want and insert it into the document.

  • The selected image is inserted into the current document.

4. Batch insert multiple images

Feature entry: Insert → Picture → Local Picture

  1. Click the Insert tab.
  2. Click Picture and select Local Picture.
  3. In the file picker, hold Ctrl and select multiple images.
  4. Click Open to import them at one time.

  • Multiple images are inserted into the document.

5. Copy and paste an image

Feature entry: Copy an image elsewhere, then paste it into the document

  1. Copy the target image from another app or file location.
  2. Return to the WPS Writer document and place the cursor where needed.
  3. Paste the image with a shortcut or the right-click menu.
