2. Set a different first page
Feature entry: Header & Footer → Different First Page
- Enter header and footer editing mode first.
- Click the Header & Footer tab.
- Select Different First Page.
- Edit the first page header or footer separately, or leave it blank.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The first page can use different header and footer content from the rest of the document.
- What you can do next: You can keep the cover page empty and keep repeated content on later pages.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If you do not enter header and footer editing mode first, the related option may not appear.
3. Set different odd and even pages
Feature entry: Header & Footer → Different Odd and Even Pages
- Enter header and footer editing mode.
- Click the Header & Footer tab.
- Select Different Odd and Even Pages.
- Edit the header and footer content for odd pages and even pages separately.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: Odd pages and even pages can display different content.
- What you can do next: You can continue preparing a double-sided printing layout.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: Only one side is updated, while the other side still keeps the previous content.
4. Set different headers and footers for different pages
Feature entry: Page Layout → Breaks → Next Page Section Break; Header & Footer → Link to Previous
- Place the cursor where you want to start a new section.
- Click the Page Layout tab.
- Open the Breaks menu.
- Click Next Page Section Break.
- Enter header and footer editing mode in the new section.
- Click the Header & Footer tab.

- What you can do next: You can set different chapter titles or page-number styles for different sections.
Tips While Using

- Enter header and footer editing mode.
- Click the Header & Footer tab.
- Open the Header Line menu.
- Select the line style you want.

- Click the Header & Footer tab.
- Open the Header Line menu.
- Select No Line.
Success Criteria

- Click Custom Margins.
- Switch to the Layout tab.
