1. Set a Drop Cap
Entry path: Tools → Insert → Drop Cap
- Select the paragraph where you want to apply a drop cap.
- Tap Tools at the bottom.
- Open the Insert tab.
- Tap Drop Cap.
- Choose the style or settings you need, including dropped style, in-margin style, lines to drop, and distance from text.
- Confirm the setting to enlarge and drop the first character automatically.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The first character of the selected paragraph appears larger and shows the drop cap effect.
- Next action available: You can continue editing the paragraph or reopen the Drop Cap menu to adjust settings.
Tips While Using
- A drop cap applies only to the first character of a paragraph.

2. Remove a Drop Cap
Entry path: Tools → Insert → Drop Cap
- Select the paragraph that already has a drop cap.
- Tap Tools at the bottom.
- Open the Insert tab.
- Tap Drop Cap.
- Select None in the pop-up menu.
- The paragraph returns to normal text display.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The enlarged dropped character returns to its normal size and position.
- Next action available: You can apply another drop cap style or continue editing the paragraph.
Tips While Using
- After removal, the paragraph returns to normal formatting automatically.
- If you do not see a change, confirm that the selected paragraph already has a drop cap.
