FAQ

Why can't I find the Drop Cap option?

  1. Make sure you are editing a WPS Writer document instead of a spreadsheet, presentation, or PDF file.
  2. Select a body paragraph, then tap Tools.
  3. Open the Insert tab and check whether Drop Cap is shown.
  4. If it is still unavailable, update WPS Office to the latest version and try again.

Why wasn't the drop cap applied to the character I wanted?

  1. Drop Cap works on the first character of the selected paragraph.
  2. Check whether you selected the whole target paragraph instead of only part of the text.
  3. Select the correct paragraph again, then open Tools > Insert > Drop Cap.
  4. If you need a different character to appear first, adjust the paragraph content order before applying the effect.

What happens after I remove a drop cap?

  1. Select the paragraph that already uses a drop cap.
  2. Open Tools > Insert > Drop Cap.
  3. Select None.
  4. The first character returns to normal display, and the paragraph formatting is restored.
