Why do character spacing changes or character scaling sometimes have no effect?

  1. Select the text that does not respond to the change.
  2. Open the Chinese Layout dropdown on the Home tab.
  3. Click Adjust Width and check whether a width setting has already been applied.
  4. If it has, click Delete to remove the width setting.
  5. Click OK, then apply Character Scaling or related spacing changes again.

How many characters can Combine Characters process at one time?

  1. Select the text you want to process.
  2. Before opening Combine Characters, check the number of selected characters.
  3. Combine Characters supports up to 6 characters at one time.
  4. If the content is longer than 6 characters, split it into multiple parts and apply the feature separately.

Can I add brackets in Combine in Two Lines?

  1. Select the text you want to format.
  2. Open Combine in Two Lines from Chinese Layout.
  3. In the dialog box, enable the bracket option.
  4. Choose the bracket style you want.
  5. Click OK to finish.

How do I restore the original display after using Adjust Width?

  1. Select the text that already has a width setting.
  2. Open Adjust Width from Chinese Layout.
  3. Click Delete in the dialog box.
  4. Click OK, and the text returns to its original width state.
