How-to Guide
1. Insert a Bookmark
Entry: Insert tab → Bookmark
- Place the cursor where you want to add a bookmark, or select the content you want to mark.
- Click the Insert tab on the top menu bar.
- Click the Bookmark button in the ribbon.
- In the Bookmark dialog box, enter a bookmark name.
- If needed, choose a sort option such as Name or Location.
- Click Add to finish.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The bookmark name appears in the bookmark list.
- What you can do next: You can go to, delete, or continue editing the related content.
Tips While Using
- A bookmark name cannot start with a number.
- A bookmark name cannot contain spaces.
2. Go to a Bookmark
Entry: Insert tab → Bookmark
- Click Bookmark under the Insert tab.
- Select the bookmark you want from the bookmark list.
- Click Go To.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The cursor jumps to the selected bookmark location.
- What you can do next: You can continue viewing or editing content at that location.
Tips While Using
- If there are many bookmarks, sort by Name or Location first to find the target more easily.
3. Delete a Bookmark
Entry: Insert tab → Bookmark
- Click Bookmark under the Insert tab.
- Select the bookmark you want to remove from the bookmark list.
- Click Delete.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The selected bookmark no longer appears in the bookmark list.
- What you can do next: You can add a new bookmark or continue editing the document.
Tips While Using
- After a bookmark is deleted, that navigation point is no longer kept.
4. Edit Bookmarked Content
Entry: Go to the target bookmark first
- First go to the target bookmark from the bookmark list.
- Edit the content directly at the bookmarked location.
- Save the document after your changes are complete.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The content at the bookmarked location has been updated.
- What you can do next: You can go to the same bookmark again and check the updated result.
Tips While Using
- If you directly delete the content marked by a bookmark, the related bookmark may also be removed with that content.
