How-to Guide
1. Insert a Blank Page
Feature path: Insert tab → Blank Page
- Place the cursor where you want to insert the blank page.
- Click the Insert tab on the top menu bar.
- Click Blank Page.
- Select the page orientation you need: Portrait or Landscape.
Success Criteria
- On-screen result: A new blank page appears after the current cursor position.
- What you can do next: You can type, format content, or save the document on the new page.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If the cursor is in the wrong position, the blank page may be inserted in an unexpected place.
- Environment note: The final portrait or landscape result may be affected by the current page setup.
2. Delete Editing Marks on a Blank Page
Feature path: Home tab → Show/Hide Editing Marks
- Move the cursor to the blank page you want to remove.
- If editing marks are hidden, click Home → Show/Hide Editing Marks.
- Select the paragraph marks, page breaks, or section breaks on the blank page.
- Press Backspace or Delete.
Success Criteria
- On-screen result: The extra blank page disappears and nearby content reconnects.
- What you can do next: You can continue checking pagination, editing content, or saving the document.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: Before deleting a section break, confirm that it will not change page formatting before or after it.
- Environment note: If the blank page is caused by a table or complex pagination settings, you may need another method as well.
3. Use Find and Replace or Paragraph Settings to Handle a Blank Page
Feature path: Ctrl + H for Find and Replace, or right-click Paragraph
- If the blank page is caused by extra paragraph marks, press
Ctrl + Hto open Find and Replace. - Click Special Format and select Paragraph Mark.
- Enter the replacement content and click Replace All.
- If the blank page is caused by a table reaching the bottom of the page, place the cursor on the blank page.
- Right-click Paragraph, set line spacing to Fixed, and set the value to 1 pt.
Success Criteria
- On-screen result: Extra paragraph marks are removed, or the blank page after the table is reduced.
- What you can do next: You can continue adjusting tables, paragraphs, and page layout.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: Before replacing content in batches, confirm the replacement scope so normal paragraph structure is not affected.
- Environment note: A blank page caused by a table may not be removable with the Delete key alone.
4. Batch Delete Blank Pages or Empty Paragraphs
Feature path: Home → Layout → Delete → Delete Empty Paragraphs / Delete Blank Pages
- Select the paragraphs or document range you want to process.
- Click the Home tab.
- Click Layout → Delete.
- Select Delete Empty Paragraphs or Delete Blank Pages.
Success Criteria
- On-screen result: Empty paragraphs or blank pages in the selected range are cleaned up together.
- What you can do next: You can continue reviewing document structure and preparing the file for printing.
