1. Sort paragraph text

Entry: Home tab → Sort

  1. Select the paragraph text that you want to sort.
  2. Click Sort on the Home tab.
  3. In the sort dialog, choose the sorting basis. You can set a primary key, secondary key, and third key.
  4. Choose the sort type. Available types include stroke count, number, date, and pinyin.
  5. Select Ascending or Descending.
  6. Click OK to apply the sort.

Success Criteria

  • The selected paragraphs are reordered according to the chosen rule.
  • Other unselected content in the document remains unchanged.
  • You can continue editing, saving, or adjusting the sort settings.

Tips While Using

2. Sort table content

Entry: Table Tools tab → Sort

  1. Place the cursor inside the table that you want to sort.
  2. Click Sort on the Table Tools tab.
  3. Choose the primary key and sort type.
  4. If needed, add a secondary key for multi-level sorting.
  5. Select Ascending or Descending.
  6. Click OK to complete the sort.

Success Criteria

  • The table content is reordered by the selected column and rule.
  • The table remains editable after sorting.
  • You can continue editing the table or run another sort.
