1. Set hidden text from the right-click menu

Entry: Select the text you want to hide → right-click → FontHidden Text

  1. Select the text you want to hide.
  2. Right-click the selected text to open the context menu.
  3. Click Font.
  4. Select the Hidden Text checkbox.
  5. Confirm the setting and close the dialog box.

Success Criteria

  • The selected text now has the hidden-text attribute.
  • When hidden text display is enabled, the text shows the related hidden marker.
  • The content remains in the document and can still be edited or restored to normal text.

Tips While Using

  • If hidden text display is turned off, the content may not appear directly in the document view after you apply the setting.

2. Show hidden text from preferences

  1. Click File in the top menu bar.
  2. Click File Preferences to open the settings window.
  3. Select View on the left side.
  4. Select the Hidden Text checkbox.
  5. Click OK to save the setting.

Success Criteria

  • Hidden text in the document is visible on screen.
  • Hidden text shows a marker underneath so it can be distinguished from regular text.
  • You can select the content again to edit it or remove the hidden-text setting.

Tips While Using

  • If you clear this option, hidden text is hidden again on screen.
  • If the document contains a lot of hidden content, turn display on first and review everything together.

3. Choose whether hidden text is printed

  1. Click File in the top menu bar.
  2. Click File Preferences to open the settings window.
  3. Select Print on the left side.
  4. Open the Hidden Text dropdown list.
  5. Choose Do not print hidden text, Print hidden text, or Overprint hidden text based on your needs.
  6. Click OK to save the setting.

Success Criteria

  • The hidden-text print option is updated.
  • Future print jobs follow the current hidden-text output setting.
  • You can change the setting again for different print tasks in the same document.
