These FAQs cover 4 common questions about copy, paste, and cut on Android, mainly around edit mode, clipboard status, and cross-app content behavior.

FAQ

Why can’t I copy or cut text?

  1. Confirm that the document is already in edit mode.
  2. Long-press the text and check whether selection handles and the floating toolbar appear.
  3. If the action still does not work, close the document and open it again.
  4. If the file itself is not editable, copy or cut actions may not be available.

Why is there no content after I tap Paste?

  1. Make sure you have already used Copy or Cut before pasting.
  2. Check whether another app has replaced the content in the system clipboard.
  3. Copy the target text again, then return to the document and paste it.
  4. Confirm that the cursor is placed in an editable position.

Why can’t content copied from another app be pasted normally?

  1. Check whether the copied content includes images, special formatting, or restricted content.
  2. Try pasting it into a plain-text location first, then copy it again into the document.
  3. Confirm that the related apps have normal clipboard access on the device.
  4. If the content source has restrictions, use another method such as download or insert.

Why does an image copied from a webpage appear incorrectly after I paste it into a document?

  1. Confirm that you copied the image itself instead of other webpage content.
  2. Try saving the image locally first.
  3. Then insert the image or copy the local image again before adding it to the document.
  4. If the webpage format is complex, direct copy and paste may not produce the expected result.
