When using Formula Recognition, the most common questions are about membership access, recognition quality, and checking inserted results; this section covers 4 frequent questions and a glossary.

FAQ

Why can’t I find the Formula Recognition entry?

  1. Make sure WPS Office for iOS is installed and open on your device.
  2. Open a document, tap Tools, and then go to Insert.
  3. Check whether the current account is signed in and has an active membership.
  4. If the entry still does not appear, update WPS Office to the latest version and check again.

Why should I still review the result after formula recognition?

  1. Lighting, image clarity, and shooting angle can all affect recognition results.
  2. Complex nested formulas, special symbols, or tightly arranged layouts may produce partial deviations.
  3. Review the preview before insertion to confirm that the main structure is correct.
  4. If any characters or structures are inaccurate after insertion, continue editing them in the document.

What sources can I use to import formulas for recognition?

  1. You can capture a formula directly with the camera.
  2. You can also choose Photos in the Formula Recognition screen to import an existing image.
  3. If the formula is saved in a file, you can choose it through the Files entry.
  4. After recognition, you can preview the result and insert it into the current document.

What kinds of formulas is this feature suitable for?

  1. It is suitable for common formulas in math, physics, and chemistry.
  2. Formulas with clear structure and distinct boundaries are usually easier to recognize.
  3. If a formula has many layers or dense symbols, use a clearer image whenever possible.
  4. After insertion, compare the result with the original image again, especially for key symbols and superscripts or subscripts.
