How-to Guide
1. Convert WPS Art to a Shape
Entry: Design tab → Convert → Convert to Shape
- Select the WPS Art object that you want to process.
- Click the Design tab at the top of the window.
- Find and click Convert.
- Select Convert to Shape.
- Check whether the object has become a standard grouped shape.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The selected WPS Art becomes a standard grouped shape.
- What you can do next: You can continue moving, editing, or adjusting the objects in the group.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If the WPS Art object is not selected first, the related command may be unavailable.
- Limitation: After conversion, the smart WPS Art editing behavior is no longer available.
2. Edit Text After Conversion
Entry: The converted shape object
- Complete the Convert to Shape action.
- Double-click the converted shape object.
- Edit the text while the object is in editable state.
- Click outside the object to confirm the change.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The text content is updated.
- What you can do next: You can continue adjusting font settings, position, or the grouped object.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: You can still edit text after conversion, but you can no longer use WPS Art level-up or level-down style behavior.
3. Move or Modify One Shape Inside the Group
Entry: The converted grouped shape
- Convert the WPS Art object to a shape first.
- Double-click to enter group editing mode.
- Select the individual shape that you want to adjust.
- Drag the shape, or modify its style and position.
- Click a blank area to exit the current editing state.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: One shape inside the group is moved or modified separately.
- What you can do next: You can continue adjusting other shapes one by one.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If you do not enter group editing mode, you may only move the whole group.
4. Undo the Conversion
Entry: Undo on the top toolbar
- After the conversion, click Undo immediately if you want to restore the original state.
- Confirm that the object has returned to its original WPS Art state.
- If you have already performed more actions, check whether Undo can still return to the target state in the current edit history.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The object returns to the original WPS Art state.
- What you can do next: You can decide again whether to perform the conversion.
Tips While Using
