1. Apply a Preset Conversion Effect
Entry point: Text Tools → Text Effects → Transform
- Select the text on the slide that you want to modify.
- On the top Text Tools tab, click Text Effects.
- Select Transform to open the transform style panel.
- Choose the style you want, such as one from the Follow Path or Warp categories.
- Check whether the text is now arranged along the selected path or shape.
Success Criteria
- UI state: The selected text shows the applied transform style.
- Next actions: You can still edit, move, or update the text content.
- No side effects: The original text content is not removed when the effect is applied.
Tips While Using
- Common mistakes: If you do not select the text first, the text effect entry may not appear.
- Environment limits: This feature is more suitable for titles and decorative text than for long body text.
2. Adjust a Conversion Effect
Entry point: A text box with an applied transform effect / Text Effects → Transform → Transform Options
- Apply any conversion effect to the text first.
- Check whether a yellow diamond control handle appears in the text box.
- Drag the yellow diamond handle to adjust the arc, bend, or path shape.
- For more detailed settings, open Text Effects → Transform → Transform Options again.
- After adjusting, confirm that the text still displays fully within the text box area.
Success Criteria
- UI state: Dragging the control handle changes the curve or distortion in real time.
- Next actions: You can continue editing the text, and the effect updates with the content.
- No side effects: The text object remains on the current slide.
Tips While Using
- Common mistakes: Long text may extend beyond the text box after the effect is applied.
- Environment limits: If the text is not fully visible, enlarge the text box or reduce the font size before adjusting again.
