1. Quickly Add Preset Bullets

Entry point: Home / Text Tools → Paragraph → Bullets drop-down arrow

  1. Double-click the text box in the slide to enter editing mode.
  2. Select the paragraph text where you want to add bullets.
  3. Click the Home or Text Tools tab on the top menu bar.
  4. In the Paragraph area, click the drop-down arrow for Bullets.
  5. In the Preset Bullets area, select the style you want to apply.

Success Criteria

  • UI state: Bullet markers appear before the selected text.
  • Next actions: You can continue typing the next list item or adjust the style.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistakes: If you do not select the text first, the result may not appear on the target paragraph as expected.
  • Environment limits: You need to enter text box editing mode first.

2. Apply Other Bullet Styles

Entry point: Home / Text Tools → Paragraph → Bullets drop-down arrow → Other Styles / More Bullets

  1. Select the paragraph text you want to format.
  2. Click the Bullets drop-down arrow.
  3. In the panel, scroll or look down to the Other Styles area.
  4. Click the style you want to apply it directly.
  5. If the current style still does not meet your needs, click More Bullets at the bottom to continue.

Success Criteria

  • UI state: The text switches to the new bullet style.
  • Next actions: You can continue into the full dialog box for more adjustments.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistakes: If you only open the drop-down panel without clicking a specific style, nothing changes.

3. Customize Bullets in the Dialog Box

Entry point: Home / Text Tools → Paragraph → Bullets drop-down arrow → More Bullets

  1. After selecting the target paragraph, click the Bullets drop-down arrow.
  2. Click More Bullets at the bottom of the panel.
  3. In the Bullets and Numbering dialog box, stay on the Bullets tab.
  4. Select a bullet style in the style grid.
  5. Adjust size, color, picture, or custom character as needed.
  6. Click OK to apply the settings. If needed, use Reset to restore the default settings.

Success Criteria

  • UI state: The bullet style updates according to your settings.
  • Next actions: You can continue editing the text while keeping the current style.

  • Common mistakes: If the paragraph is not selected first, the applied range may differ from what you expect.

4. Remove Bullets

Entry point: Home / Text Tools → Paragraph → Bullets drop-down arrow → None

  1. Select the paragraph text that already has bullets.
  2. Click the Bullets drop-down arrow.
  3. In the preset area, select None.
  4. Confirm that the text returns to a normal paragraph display.

Success Criteria

  • UI state: The bullet markers disappear before the paragraph.
  • Next actions: You can continue editing as normal text or apply another list style again.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistakes: If only part of the text is selected instead of the whole paragraph, the displayed result may be inconsistent.
