1. Protect a Slide Master

Entry path: Open Slide Master from the Review tab first, then go to the Slide Master tab and select Protect Master

  1. Open the presentation you want to edit.
  2. On the Review tab, click Slide Master to enter master editing view.
  3. In the left thumbnail pane, select the master you want to protect.
  4. Switch to the Slide Master tab.
  5. Click Protect Master to protect the current master.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: You are in Slide Master view and the target master has been protected.
  • What you can do next: You can continue editing other masters or return to normal view to keep working on the presentation.
  • No side effect: Other masters that were not selected are not protected by this action.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If you do not enter Slide Master view first, you will not see the Protect Master entry.
