  1. Select the slide you want to update in the left slide thumbnail pane.
  2. Right-click the selected slide.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistakes: If you do not select the target slide first, the right-click menu may not apply to the slide you intended to edit.
  • Environment limits: Use this in the normal presentation editing view.

2. Change a Layout from the Ribbon

Entry point: Home tab → Layout button

  1. Select the slide you want to update.
  2. Click the Home tab on the top menu bar.
  3. Click Layout.
  4. Select a new layout from the drop-down panel.

Success Criteria

  • Next actions: You can continue adding text, images, or other presentation content.
  • No side effects: Other slides in the presentation are not changed at the same time.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistakes: If no specific slide is selected, it may be harder to confirm which slide receives the layout change.
  • Environment limits: Open the presentation and stay in the editing interface before starting.
