1. Read selected text
Entry: Floating text toolbar → Read Aloud
- Open a presentation in WPS Office on iOS.
- Select the text you want to hear so the floating text toolbar appears.
- Tap Read Aloud.
- Wait for the system to start reading the selected text.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: the Read Aloud entry appears after text is selected.
- Next action available: the selected text starts playing aloud after you tap the entry.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: if no text is selected, the related entry may not appear.
- Environment note: device audio must be on, or an available audio output device must be connected.
2. Pause the current playback
Entry: Playback state → Pause
- Start Read Aloud first.
- Find the pause control during playback.
- Tap Pause.
- Confirm that the current spoken playback stops.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: a pause action is available while playback is active.
- Next action available: the current spoken output stops after you pause it.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: if playback has not started, you cannot verify the pause result.
3. Check playback for Chinese or English text
Entry: Floating text toolbar → Read Aloud
- Select a Chinese or English passage in the presentation.
- Tap Read Aloud.
- Listen to the spoken result for the current passage.
- To compare another passage, select new text and start playback again.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: different passages can trigger playback repeatedly.
- Next action available: you can keep selecting text to compare spoken results.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: if you select only part of a sentence, playback follows only the current selection.
4. Confirm device audio before playback
Entry: Device audio settings + Floating text toolbar → Read Aloud
- Make sure your iPhone or iPad is not muted and media volume is on.
- If you use headphones or Bluetooth audio, confirm that the output works normally.
- Return to the presentation and select text.
- Tap Read Aloud to start playback.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: after you tap Read Aloud, audio is heard through the speaker or connected output device.
- Next action available: you can continue selecting other text and play it again.
