How-to Guide

1. Pin a screenshot to the screen

Entry point: Screenshot editing toolbar → Pin on Screen button

  1. Finish taking a screenshot and confirm the content you want to keep in the screenshot editing window.
  2. Click Pin on Screen on the toolbar.
  3. The screenshot is pinned above other windows.
  4. Drag the screenshot window to move it to a better position on the desktop.
  5. Continue working in other apps while the screenshot stays visible on top.

Success Criteria

  • UI state: The screenshot appears as an independent floating window above other windows.
  • Next actions: You can switch to other windows and still keep the screenshot visible.
  • No side effects: Your current work window stays open.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistakes: If you exit before the screenshot editing step is complete, the screenshot will not enter the pinned state.
  • Environment limits: The pinned screenshot takes up part of the screen, so move it to an area that does not block your work.

2. Manage a pinned screenshot

Entry point: Upper-right control area of the pinned screenshot

  1. Move your pointer over the pinned screenshot.
  2. Find the available controls in the upper-right area of the screenshot.
  3. Click Window Shadow to turn the screenshot shadow on or off for a clearer edge.
  4. Click Copy to copy the current screenshot to the clipboard.
  5. Click Save to save the screenshot locally.
  6. Click Close to end the pinned display for that screenshot.

Success Criteria

  • UI state: When the pointer moves over the screenshot, the management options appear in the upper-right area.
  • Next actions: You can copy, save, or close the screenshot as needed.
  • No side effects: Closing the pinned screenshot does not stop other apps from running.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistakes: If the pointer is not over the screenshot area, the upper-right controls may not be obvious.
  • Environment limits: After you close the pinned screenshot, you need to capture it again if you still need it for reference.
