About This Feature

Overview

Object Hierarchy is a built-in presentation editing feature in WPS Office for iOS. It is used to change the display order of overlapping objects such as pictures and shapes, so you can control whether an object appears at the front, one layer forward, one layer backward, or at the back.

Core capabilities include:

  • Bring to Front: Move the selected object above all other objects.
  • Bring Forward: Move the selected object forward by one layer.
  • Send Backward: Move the selected object backward by one layer.
  • Send to Back: Move the selected object behind all other objects.

The tab name in the bottom toolbar changes with the selected object type. When you select a picture, the Picture tab appears. When you select a shape, the related shape tab appears.

Capability SummaryIn WPS Presentation on iOS, after selecting an object, you can use Object Hierarchy to bring it to the front, move it forward, move it backward, or send it to the back for overlapping layout adjustments.Microsoft Office supports bringing objects forward or backward, including moving them to the front, back, or one layer at a time.Google Slides supports changing object order, including moving an object to the front or back in the Slides app.Notion supports adding, resizing, aligning, and arranging media blocks on a page, but its page-based block model does not provide an equivalent slide-layer ordering command set for presentation objects.Adobe XD supports Bring To Front, Bring Forward, Send Backward, and Send To Back commands for arranging object stacking order.
WPS AdvantagesAdvantage: WPS provides four direct object-order commands in the mobile presentation editing interface, which is practical for quick slide layout adjustments on iPhone or iPad.Compared with WPS: Microsoft provides similar ordering controls, but the official guidance is spread across different Office apps and interfaces.Compared with WPS: Google also supports object order changes, but the official mobile help shown here highlights front and back ordering in Google Slides rather than the same four-command presentation flow.Compared with WPS: Notion is better suited to page and media block organization than slide-based object layering.Compared with WPS: Adobe XD offers strong object arrangement controls, but it is positioned for design and prototyping rather than general presentation editing.
