1. Quickly increase or decrease indentation with toolbar buttons
Feature entry: Home / Text Tools tab → Paragraph group → Decrease Indent or Increase Indent
- Double-click the text box on the slide to enter editing mode.
- Place the cursor in the paragraph that you want to adjust.
- Click the Home or Text Tools tab on the top menu bar.
- In the Paragraph group, click Decrease Indent or Increase Indent.
- Repeat the button click if you need to continue adjusting the paragraph position.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The selected paragraph moves left or right.
- What you can do next: You can continue typing, adjust other paragraphs, or save the presentation.
Tips While Using
- Toolbar buttons adjust indentation by a fixed step, which is useful for quick changes.

2. Set indentation precisely in the Paragraph dialog box
Feature entry: Home / Text Tools tab → Paragraph group dialog launcher → Indents and Spacing
- Double-click the text box on the slide to enter editing mode.
- Place the cursor in the paragraph that you want to adjust.
- Click the Home or Text Tools tab.
- Click the small arrow in the lower-right corner of the Paragraph group to open the Paragraph dialog box.
- Under Indents and Spacing, set the indentation value for Before text.
- Change the measurement unit as needed, such as points, inches, centimeters, millimeters, or characters.
- Under Special, choose None, First line, or Hanging.
- Click OK to apply the settings.
