1. Quickly increase or decrease indent with toolbar buttons

Entry path: Home / Text Tools → Paragraph → Decrease Indent / Increase Indent

  1. Double-click the text box in the slide to enter editing mode.
  2. Place the cursor in the paragraph that you want to adjust.
  3. Click the Home or Text Tools tab on the top menu bar.
  4. In the Paragraph group, click Decrease Indent or Increase Indent.
  5. Repeat the click if you want to continue adjusting the paragraph position step by step.

2. Set indent precisely in the Paragraph dialog box

Entry path: Home / Text Tools → Paragraph → Paragraph menu → Indents and Spacing

  1. Double-click the text box in the slide to enter editing mode.
  2. Place the cursor in the paragraph that you want to adjust.
  3. Click the Home or Text Tools tab.
  4. Click the Paragraph menu button in the lower-right corner of the Paragraph group.
  5. In the Paragraph dialog box, keep the Indents and Spacing tab open.
  6. In the Indentation area, set the value for Before text.
  7. Choose a measurement unit as needed, such as pt, inch, cm, mm, or character.
  8. Under Special, choose None, First line indent, or Hanging indent.
  9. If you selected a special format, set the corresponding measurement value.
  10. Click OK to apply the settings.
