1. Add a Blank Slide

Entry point: Bottom toolbar > Tools > Insert > Slide

  1. In the slide editing view, go to the slide that should appear before the new slide.
  2. Tap Tools on the bottom toolbar.
  3. Switch to the Insert tab.
  4. Tap Slide.
  5. WPS inserts a new blank slide after the currently selected slide.
  6. The new slide uses the current presentation's default layout.

Success Criteria

  • A new slide appears in the thumbnail strip.
  • The new slide is placed after the currently selected slide.
  • You can continue typing or inserting objects on the new slide.

Tips While Using

  • Select the slide before the insertion point first.

2. Create a Slide from a Layout

Entry point: Slide strip at the bottom of the screen > Plus button

  1. Open the presentation and enter editing mode.
  2. In the slide strip at the bottom of the screen, tap the + button.
  3. In the layout selection panel, choose the layout you need.
  4. WPS creates a new slide with the selected layout.

Success Criteria

  • The new slide is added to the current presentation.
  • The new slide structure matches the selected layout.
  • You can edit directly in the corresponding placeholders.

Tips While Using

  • This method works well when you need a title slide, image-and-text slide, or another fixed structure.
  • After you choose a layout, the new slide is inserted directly into the current editing flow.

3. Create a Slide from the Floating Edit Bar

Entry point: Slide strip at the bottom of the screen > Select a slide > Floating edit bar > New

  1. In the slide editing view, go to the slide that should appear before the new slide.
  2. Tap that slide thumbnail to open the floating edit bar.
  3. Tap New.
  4. In the layout selection panel, choose the layout you need.
  5. WPS inserts a new slide after the currently selected slide.

Success Criteria

  • The New command in the floating edit bar works successfully.
  • The new slide appears after the selected slide.
