- Open an existing presentation or create a new one.
- Select the text box, picture, or other object that you want to copy.
- Click Copy on the Home tab, or use the common Mac copy shortcut.
- Move to the target location and get ready to paste.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The original object remains in its current position.
- What you can do next: You can paste the copied content on the current slide or another slide.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If no object is selected first, the copy command will not apply to the intended content.
- Environment note: If the object is not currently editable, switch to an editable state first.
2. Cut Content
Entry: Menu bar → Home tab → Cut
- Open the presentation and go to the target slide.
- Select the object that you want to move.
- Click Cut on the Home tab, or use the common Mac cut shortcut.
- Go to the target location and paste the content.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The object is removed from its original position.
- What you can do next: You can paste the object into a new location.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If you want to keep the original object, use Copy instead of Cut.
- Environment note: After cutting content, confirm that the clipboard has not been replaced by another action before you paste.
3. Paste Content
Entry: Menu bar → Home tab → Paste
- Complete a copy or cut action first.
- Click the position where you want to place the content on the current slide or a target slide.
- Click Paste on the Home tab, or use the common Mac paste shortcut.
- Continue adjusting the object position and size based on the slide layout.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The most recently copied or cut content appears in the target location.
- What you can do next: You can continue dragging, resizing, or copying the object again.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If the clipboard content has been replaced by a newer action, the pasted result will change.
- Environment note: When content is copied from another app, the final paste result may vary by content type.
