How-to Guide
1. Copy slides
Entry: Home → Clipboard → Copy
- Open the target presentation and make sure it is in editing mode.
- In the slide thumbnail pane on the left, select the slide you want to copy.
- Click Copy on the Home tab.
- After that, continue with a paste action if needed.
Success Criteria
- The selected slide remains unchanged.
- The slide is ready to be pasted in the current file or another position.
- The original slide is not removed.
Tips While Using
- Make sure you select the slide itself, not a single object on the slide.
- If you need to copy several slides, select them in order before clicking Copy.
2. Paste slides
Entry: Home → Clipboard → Paste
- Complete a copy action first.
- In the slide thumbnail pane, click near the place where you want to insert the slide.
- Click Paste on the Home tab.
- Check whether the new slide appears in the expected position.
Success Criteria
- The copied slide is inserted into the current presentation.
- The new slide content matches the copied slide.
- You can continue editing or moving the new slide.
Tips While Using
- Confirm the insertion position before pasting so the slide does not appear in the wrong order.
- In a long deck, locate the target area in the thumbnail pane before you paste.
3. Cut and move slides
Entry: Home → Clipboard → Cut / Paste
- Open the presentation and select the slide you want to move.
- On the Home tab, click Cut.
- In the slide thumbnail pane, locate the new insertion position.
- Click Paste to insert the slide into the new position.
- Check whether the slide has been removed from the original position.
Success Criteria
- The target slide has moved to the new position.
- The original position no longer keeps that slide.
- The slide content remains editable after the move.
Tips While Using
- Cutting removes the slide from its original position, so saving the file first is a good idea.
- If the result is not what you expected, use Undo right away.
