How-to Guide
1. Add columns
Feature entry: Home → Paragraph → column-related control
- Open the target presentation and make sure you are in editing mode.
- Select the text you want to format into columns.
- On the Home tab, find the column-related control in the Paragraph area.
- Click the option for adding columns so the selected text is displayed in the chosen column layout.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The selected text is displayed in a column layout.
- What you can do next: You can continue editing the text, changing the number of columns, or adjusting other paragraph settings.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If you do not select the target text first, the column range may not match your expectation.
- Environment note: The action needs to be performed inside editable text content.
2. Delete columns
Feature entry: Home → Paragraph → column-related control
- Select the text that is already formatted into columns.
- Open the column-related menu again.
- Choose the option that returns the content to one column or removes the column layout.
- Check whether the text has returned to a standard single-column layout.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The previous multi-column layout is removed and the text returns to a single-column display.
- What you can do next: You can apply a new column layout, adjust paragraph settings, or continue editing the content.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If the selection is incomplete, only part of the text may be affected.
3. Open More Settings and adjust parameters
Feature entry: Add/Delete Columns → More Settings
- Open the column-related menu and click More Settings.
- Review the available advanced parameters in the settings panel.
- Adjust the options based on the slide layout you want.
- Check the preview effect.
- Click OK or the corresponding confirmation button to save the settings.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The settings in the panel take effect and the page display matches the confirmed result.
- What you can do next: You can continue fine-tuning the settings or return to slide editing.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: Confirming the settings before checking the preview may produce a layout that does not fit the slide.
4. Undo changes and reuse the layout approach
Feature entry: Quick Access Toolbar Undo / Ctrl+Z
- If the current column result is not suitable, press Ctrl+Z to undo the latest action.
- You can also click Undo on the Quick Access Toolbar.
- Select the text again and reopen the column entry.
- Reapply a more suitable number of columns or adjusted settings based on the previous result.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The latest column change is reversed or replaced with a new setting.
- What you can do next: You can continue editing, save the file, or review the slide result.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: Undoing too many times may return to an earlier editing state, so saving the file before major layout changes is helpful.
