1. Enable Brush

Feature entry: Review tab → Brush

  1. Open the presentation you want to edit or present.
  2. Click the Review tab on the top menu bar.
  3. Click Brush to turn on Brush mode.
  4. Confirm that the Brush tab appears on the ribbon.
  5. Check whether the pointer has changed to a brush state.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: Brush-related tools appear on the ribbon.
  • What you can do next: You can continue by choosing a brush type, setting a color, and drawing.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If no presentation is open, you may not reach the actual annotation workflow.
  • Environment note: If the interface layout looks different, first confirm that you are in the WPS Presentation window.

2. Choose a Brush Type

Feature entry: Review tab → Brush → Brush toolbar

  1. Enable Brush first.
  2. Check the available tools on the brush toolbar.
  3. Select Selection Mode, Ballpoint Pen, Highlighter, Watercolor Pen, Shapes, or Eraser as needed.
  4. Return to the page and continue annotating.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The selected tool is active.
  • What you can do next: You can draw, select, or erase based on the tool you chose.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If the wrong tool is selected, drawing or erasing may not work as expected.

3. Set Brush Color

Feature entry: Review tab → Brush → Brush toolbar

  1. Enable Brush and choose a drawable pen type.
  2. Click the color selector.
  3. Choose a preset color or use the color picker.
  4. Return to the page and start drawing.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The selected color is applied to the current brush.
  • What you can do next: New strokes appear in the selected color.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If you are in Selection Mode or Eraser mode, changing color will not create a drawing result by itself.

4. Draw with Brush

Feature entry: Document editing area

  1. Move the pointer to the area you want to annotate.
  2. Hold down the left mouse button to draw.
  3. Release the mouse button to finish the current stroke.
  4. Repeat as needed to create multiple strokes.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: Visible strokes or marks appear on the page.
  • What you can do next: You can keep drawing, switch tools, or erase content.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If Selection Mode is still active, you will not be able to draw directly.

5. Exit Brush Mode

Feature entry: Brush → Close, or press Esc

  1. After finishing your annotations, click Close on the Brush tab.
  2. Or press Esc to exit Brush mode.
  3. Confirm that the pointer returns to the normal selection state.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: Brush mode ends and the interface returns to normal operation.
  • What you can do next: You can select objects, edit content, or switch to other features.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If you still need to annotate, confirm that the current stroke is complete before exiting.
