How-to Guide
1. Save a presentation
Entry: Top menu bar → Save
- Open the presentation you want to edit and make your changes.
- Tap Save in the top menu bar.
- If the file already has a save location, WPS saves the latest changes there.
- If this is the first save for a new presentation, choose a save path and enter a file name as prompted.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: the presentation remains open after the save is completed.
- What you can do next: you can continue editing, sharing, or using Save As.
- No side effect: the current presentation page is not closed automatically.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: if you do not confirm the path or file name during the first save, the file may be harder to find later.
- Environment note: before saving locally or to cloud storage, make sure the device still has available storage space.
2. Save As to a chosen location
Entry: Top menu bar → More → Save As
- Open the presentation you want to save as a new file.
- Tap More in the top menu bar.
- Tap Save As in the menu.
- In the Save As screen, choose the file format:
.pptxor.ppt. - Choose the save location.
- Rename the file if needed, then tap Save.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: the new file is saved successfully, while the original file remains available.
- What you can do next: you can open the new copy for further editing or sharing.
- No side effect: the original file is not directly overwritten by the Save As action.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: if you confuse Save with Save As, you may overwrite a version you wanted to keep separately.
- Environment note: if you choose a cloud location, keep the network connection available.
