1. Open Set Background Format from the Design tab
Entry: Design > Background
- Select the slide whose background you want to edit.
- Click the Design tab at the top.
- Click Background.
- In the Object Properties pane on the right, choose the settings you need, such as Solid Fill, Gradient Fill, Picture or Texture Fill, Pattern Fill, Hide Background Graphics, Color, Transparency, Apply to All, or Reset Background.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: the Object Properties pane appears on the right with background-related options.
- Next action available: you can continue editing the background or apply the settings to all slides.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: if the wrong slide is selected first, the background may be changed on the wrong page.
- Environment note: if the file is read-only, you may not be able to save the background changes.
2. Open Set Background Format from the slide thumbnail right-click menu
Entry: right-click a slide thumbnail > Set Background Format
- Find the target slide in the thumbnail pane on the left.
- Right-click that slide thumbnail.
- Select Set Background Format.
- Continue adjusting the background settings in the Object Properties pane on the right.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: the Object Properties pane opens and shows the background settings area.
- Next action available: you can directly edit the background of the selected slide.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: right-clicking the wrong thumbnail changes the wrong slide.
- Environment note: before making deck-wide changes, confirm that the correct slide is selected.
3. Open Set Background Format from the editing canvas right-click menu
Entry: right-click a blank area in the slide editing canvas > Set Background Format
- Open the target slide and right-click a blank area in the editing canvas.
- Select Set Background Format.
- Wait for the Object Properties pane to open on the right.
- Adjust the background color, transparency, or other fill options as needed.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: the Object Properties pane opens successfully and the background settings are visible.
- Next action available: you can edit the current slide background or use Apply to All for the whole presentation.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: if you right-click an object instead of a blank area, a different menu may appear.
- Environment note: when using picture or texture fill, make sure the required asset is available.
