Entry point: top menu bar Insert → Header and Footer
- Click Insert on the top menu bar.
- Click Header and Footer.
- In the dialog box, set the options you need:
- Date and Time: Choose a fixed date or automatic update.
- Slide Number: Show slide numbering.
- Footer: Enter the footer text you want to display.
- Don’t show on title slide: Keep these items off the title slide.
- Click Apply to update the current slide, or click Apply to All to update all slides.
Success Criteria
- UI state: The current slide or all slides show the date, numbering, or footer text you set.
- Next actions: You can continue presenting, editing, or saving the file.
Tips While Using
- Common mistakes: If you only want to change one slide, choose Apply instead of Apply to All.

2. Set Header and Footer for Notes and Handouts
Entry point: Header and Footer dialog box → Notes and Handouts tab
- Open the Header and Footer dialog box.
- Switch to the Notes and Handouts tab.
- Set the header, footer, date, and page number options as needed.
- Click Apply or Apply to All to finish.
