1. Open Notes Master view

Entry path: View → Notes Master

  1. Open the presentation that you want to edit.
  2. Click the View tab.
  3. In the master view area, click Notes Master.
  4. Enter the Notes Master editing interface and confirm that the Notes Master tab appears at the top.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: You are in the Notes Master editing view.
  • Next action available: You can continue adjusting page settings, placeholders, and background options.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If you do not switch to the View tab first, the entry may be hard to find.
  • Environment note: Open a presentation before starting this task.

2. Set page orientation and slide size

Entry path: Notes Master → Page Setup

  1. In the Notes Master tab, find the Page Setup area.
  2. Click Notes Page Orientation and set it to portrait or landscape.
  3. Click Slide Size to adjust how the slide appears on the notes page.
  4. Review the page layout and confirm that it fits your reading or printing needs.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The notes page orientation or slide display size has been updated.
  • Next action available: You can continue adjusting placeholders and background style.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: After changing orientation, not checking the full layout may affect the notes text area.

3. Manage notes page placeholders

Entry path: Notes Master → Placeholders

  1. In the Notes Master tab, find the Placeholders area.
  2. Select or clear the checkboxes for Header, Date, Slide Image, Body, Footer, and Slide Number.
  3. Keep only the elements that you want to show on the notes page.
  4. Check whether each element is displayed or hidden as expected.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The selected placeholders are shown or hidden.
  • Next action available: You can continue with background and style adjustments.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If Body is cleared, the notes text area may no longer appear.

4. Adjust background style

Entry path: Notes Master → Background

  1. In the Notes Master tab, find the Background area.
  2. Click Color to set the notes page color scheme.
  3. Click Font to set the font used on the notes page.
  4. Click Effects to adjust the visual effect style.
  5. Review the full page to confirm readability.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The notes page color, font, or effects have been updated.
  • Next action available: You can close Notes Master and review the final result.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: Too many style changes can reduce readability, so a clear layout is usually easier to use.

5. Close Notes Master

Entry path: Notes Master → Close

  1. Finish adjusting page settings, placeholders, and background options.
  2. Click Close in the Notes Master tab.
  3. Return to the normal editing view.
  4. Open a notes-related view if needed to check the final layout.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: You have exited Notes Master view.
  • Next action available: You can review the notes page result and continue editing the presentation.
  • No side effect: The Notes Master changes remain saved in the current presentation.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If you close the view before checking the layout, you may need to return and adjust it again before printing.
