1. Open Action Settings from the ribbon

Entry point: Insert tab → Action button

  1. Select the object you want to configure, such as a picture, shape, or text box.
  2. Click the Insert tab on the top menu bar.
  3. Click Action.
  4. In the Action Settings dialog, choose the trigger type you want to use.
  5. Continue by selecting the action type and completing the setup.

Success Criteria

  • UI state: The Action Settings dialog opens.

2. Set a mouse click action

Entry point: Action Settings dialog → Mouse Click tab

  1. Open the Action Settings dialog.
  2. Select the Mouse Click tab.
  3. Choose an action type, such as None, Hyperlink to, Run program, or Play sound.
  4. Configure the details for the selected action.
  5. Click OK to save the setting.

  • UI state: The object keeps the click-triggered setting.
  • Next actions: You can enter Slide Show mode to test what happens when the object is clicked.

3. Set a mouse over action

Entry point: Action Settings dialog → Mouse Over tab

  1. Open the Action Settings dialog.
  2. Select the Mouse Over tab.

  4. Click OK to finish the setup.

  • UI state: The object keeps the mouse-over setting.
