1. Add a Picture Border

Entry: Picture Tools tab → Picture Border

  1. Select the picture that you want to edit.
  2. Click the Picture Tools tab at the top.
  3. Click the Picture Border drop-down button.
  4. Choose the option you need, such as theme color, gradient fill, other border colors, the color picker, weight, or dashed line style.
  5. If you need more detailed settings, click More Settings to open the object properties pane.

Success Criteria

  • A border is visible around the picture.
  • The border color, weight, or line style has been updated.
  • You can continue editing other objects in the presentation.

Tips While Using

  • Select the picture first before opening picture-related tools.
  • Border weight changes the visual thickness around the image.

2. Customize the Border

Entry: Picture Tools tab → BorderMore SettingsObject PropertiesLine

  1. Select the picture that you want to edit.
  2. Click the Picture Tools tab.
  3. Click the Border drop-down button.
  4. Click More Settings to open the Object Properties pane on the right.
  5. Under Fill & Line, click Line.
  6. Choose No Line, Solid Line, or Gradient Line, then adjust settings such as color, transparency, line type, gradient style, angle, or brightness as needed.
  7. Preview the result and click a blank area to apply the setting.

Success Criteria

  • The object properties pane is open and shows line settings.
  • The picture border has changed to the selected line type.
  • The updated style is visible on the picture.

Tips While Using

3. Adjust It from the Home Tab

  1. Select the picture that you want to edit.
  2. Click the Home tab.
  3. Click the Shape Outline drop-down button.
  4. Set the border color, weight, and line style.

Success Criteria

  • The border style has been adjusted from the Home tab.
  • The picture border appearance has updated.

  • If the related option is not visible, confirm that the picture is still selected.

4. Open Border Settings from the Right-Click Menu

Entry: Picture right-click menu → Format Object

  1. Select the picture that you want to edit.
  2. Right-click the picture.
  3. Select Format Object.
  4. Adjust the border style in the Object Properties pane on the right.

  • The right-click menu opens the object formatting entry successfully.
  • The object properties pane is available for further border adjustments.

5. Use the Side Task Pane

  2. Click the Properties button in the side pane.
