FAQ

Why do multiple pictures align in a way that does not match what I expected?

  1. Check the current alignment reference first.
  2. If you want alignment based on the slide boundary, choose Relative to Slide.
  3. If you want alignment based on one specific picture, switch to the last selected object option and confirm that the final selected picture is correct.
  4. Run the alignment command again.

Why can’t I find the Align button?

  1. Make sure a picture is selected.
  2. After selecting a picture, check the Picture Tools tab.
  3. If you still do not see it there, open the Home tab and look for Align under Arrange.

Why does Distribute Horizontally or Distribute Vertically not change much?

  1. Confirm that multiple pictures are selected.
  2. Try selecting at least three pictures.
  3. Perform a basic alignment first, then use horizontal or vertical distribution.
  4. Check whether the pictures were already spaced almost evenly.

What is the difference between Same Height, Same Width, and Same Size?

  1. Same Height makes all selected pictures share one height.
  2. Same Width makes all selected pictures share one width.
  3. Same Size makes the selected pictures share the same overall dimensions.
  4. Choose the command that fits your slide layout.

How can I adjust picture placement more precisely?

  1. Turn on Gridlines or Gridlines and Guides.
  2. Drag pictures while using the visual guides as references.
  3. For finer adjustments, use the keyboard arrow keys to nudge a picture step by step.
