  • Home tab > Arrange > Rotate
  1. Select the icon that you want to rotate.
  2. Click the Shape Tools tab, or open Arrange on the Home tab.
  3. Click Rotate.
  4. Choose the option you need: Rotate Left 90°, Rotate Right 90°, Flip Horizontal, or Flip Vertical.
  5. Check the result and continue editing if needed.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The icon rotates or flips according to the selected preset option.
  • What you can do next: You can continue moving, resizing, or formatting the icon.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If the icon is not selected first, the rotation command may be unavailable.
  • Environment note: Depending on the interface layout, the entry may appear under Shape Tools or Home > Arrange.

2. Rotate an Icon Manually

Entry path: Select the icon and use the rotation handle above it.

  1. Select the icon that you want to rotate.
  2. Move the pointer to the rotation handle above the icon.
  3. Click and drag the rotation handle.
  4. Release the mouse when the icon reaches the angle you want.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The icon rotates freely in the direction you drag.
  • What you can do next: You can keep adjusting the angle or switch to exact angle input.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: Dragging a resize handle instead of the rotation handle changes the size instead of the angle.
  • Environment note: The rotation handle appears only when the icon is selected.

3. Set an Exact Rotation Angle

Entry path: Shape Tools tab > Size area > expand button > Object Properties > Size & Properties > Size.

  1. Select the icon that you want to rotate.
  2. Click the Shape Tools tab.
  3. In the Size area, click the expand button to open the Object Properties pane on the right.
  4. Under Size & Properties, find the Size section.
  5. Enter the angle you want in the Rotation box, from 0° to 360°.
  6. You can also use the rotation control to adjust the angle quickly.
  7. Click a blank area to apply the setting after checking the preview.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The icon displays at the target angle you entered.
  • What you can do next: You can enter another angle or continue slide layout work.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If you do not move focus away after entering the value, the change may not be applied yet.
  • Environment note: Exact angle adjustment depends on the Object Properties pane being visible and available.

4. Use the Right-Click Menu

Entry path: Right-click the icon > Format Object.

  1. Select the icon that you want to rotate.
  2. Right-click the icon.
  3. Select Format Object.
  4. In the Object Properties pane on the right, find the rotation-related settings.
  5. Enter or adjust the angle you need.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The right-side pane opens and the icon angle updates.
  • What you can do next: You can continue editing other object properties such as size or position.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: Right-clicking a blank area opens a different menu instead of the object formatting menu.
  • Environment note: The icon must be selected first for the related formatting entry to appear.
