How-to Guide
1. Apply a Soft Edge Effect
Entry path: Graphic Tools tab > Effects > Soft Edges
- Select the icon that you want to edit.
- Click the Graphic Tools tab at the top of the window.
- Click Effects.
- Select Soft Edges, then choose a preset point value.
- If you want more control, click More Settings to open the effect settings pane.
Success Criteria
- The icon edge shows a softer and more blurred transition.
- When you select the object again, the soft edge effect remains applied.
Tips While Using
- A larger preset value creates a softer edge.
- If no icon or graphic object is selected, the effect entry may be unavailable.
2. Customize the Soft Edge Effect
Entry path: Graphic Tools tab > Effects > Soft Edges > More Settings > Object Properties > Soft Edges
- Select the icon that you want to edit.
- Click the Graphic Tools tab.
- Click Effects.
- Select Soft Edges and click More Settings.
- In the right-side Object Properties pane, find the Soft Edges setting.
- Enter a value or drag the control to set the size from 0 pt to 100 pt.
- Review the live preview and click a blank area to finish.
Success Criteria
- The current soft edge size is shown in object properties.
- The icon edge updates as the size value changes.
Tips While Using
- A larger value makes the icon edge more blurred.
- Very large values may reduce edge detail.
3. Set Soft Edges from the Right-Click Menu
Entry path: Right-click the icon > Format Object
- Select the icon that you want to edit.
- Right-click the icon.
- Select Format Object.
- In the right-side Object Properties pane, find the soft edge settings and adjust them.
Success Criteria
- The Object Properties pane opens on the right side.
- You can change the soft edge effect directly in the pane.
Tips While Using
- This entry is useful when you want to open settings without switching tabs.
4. Set Soft Edges from the Side Task Pane
Entry path: Side task pane > Object Properties
- Select the icon that you want to soften.
- Click the Object Properties button on the side.
- Find the soft edge settings in the Object Properties pane.
- Adjust the size value and review the live result on the slide.
Success Criteria
- The task pane stays open for continuous adjustment.
- The icon edge updates immediately after the value changes.
