1. Apply preset shadow effects

Entry: Graphic Tools tab → Effect → Shadow

  1. Select the icon that you want to format.
  2. Click the Graphic Tools tab.
  3. Click Effect.
  4. Open Shadow and review the external, internal, and perspective presets.
  5. Select the preset you want to apply the shadow effect to the icon.
  6. If you need more control, click More Settings.

Success Criteria

  • Visual result: The selected icon shows the shadow preset you chose.
  • Next step available: You can switch to another preset or continue with detailed settings.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If the icon is not selected first, the shadow commands may be unavailable.
  • Environment note: Complete these steps in the WPS Presentation editing view.

2. Customize shadow parameters

Entry: Graphic Tools tab → Effect → Shadow → More Settings → Object Properties → Shadow

  1. Select the icon that you want to edit.
  2. Click Effect on the Graphic Tools tab.
  3. Open Shadow and click More Settings.
  4. In the right-side Object Properties pane, find the Shadow section.
  5. Adjust the preset, color, transparency, size, blur, angle, and distance as needed.
  6. Review the live preview and keep the settings that fit your slide.

  • Visual result: The Object Properties pane shows the current shadow settings.
  • Next step available: You can continue refining the effect and see changes immediately.

3. Set shadow from the right-click menu

Entry: Right-click the icon → Set Object Format

  1. Select the icon.
  2. Right-click the icon.
  3. Choose Set Object Format.
  4. In the right-side Object Properties pane, locate the shadow settings.
  5. Adjust the shadow style or parameters as needed.

Success Criteria

  • Visual result: The Object Properties pane opens on the right.
  • Next step available: You can complete the shadow setup directly in the pane.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: Right-clicking a blank area will not open the selected icon's formatting options.

4. Adjust shadow from the side task pane

Entry: Side task pane → Properties

  1. Select the icon that you want to edit.
  2. Click Properties in the side area.
  3. Find the shadow settings in Object Properties.
  4. Adjust the effect and review how it appears on the slide.

Success Criteria

  • Visual result: The Object Properties pane is open and the shadow settings are visible.
