1. Apply a Glow Effect

Entry path: Graphic Tools tab → Effects → Glow

  1. Select the icon that you want to format.
  2. Click the Graphic Tools tab at the top.
  3. Click Effects.
  4. Select Glow.
  5. Choose the preset you want under Glow Variations.
  6. Click the preset to apply the glow effect to the icon.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: A visible glow appears around the selected icon.
  • Next action available: You can continue to More Settings for further adjustments.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If the icon is not selected first, the effect may not apply as expected.
  • Environment note: You need to be in the presentation editing view with a supported object selected.

2. Customize the Glow Effect

Entry path: Graphic Tools tab → Effects → Glow → More Settings → Object Properties → Glow

  1. Select the icon that you want to format.
  2. Click the Graphic Tools tab.
  3. Click Effects, then select Glow.
  4. Click More Settings to open the Object Properties pane on the right.
  5. Choose a preset in the Glow section.
  6. Adjust the color, size, and transparency as needed.
  7. Review the live preview and click a blank area to finish applying the effect.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The Object Properties pane shows glow-related settings on the right.
  • Next action available: You can keep adjusting color, size, and transparency until the result fits your slide.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If the values are set too high, the icon edge may look overly bright.
  • Environment note: Transparency can be adjusted from 0% to 100%.

3. Set Glow from the Right-Click Menu

Entry path: Right-click the icon → Set Object Format

  1. Select the icon that you want to format.
  2. Right-click the icon.
  3. Select Set Object Format.
  4. Find the glow-related settings in the Object Properties pane on the right.
  5. Adjust the effect as needed.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The object formatting area appears on the right side.
  • Next action available: You can continue editing glow parameters in the side pane.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If you right-click outside the target icon, the menu may not match the current object.

4. Set Glow from the Side Task Pane

Entry path: Side task pane → Object Properties

  1. Select the icon that you want to format.
  2. Click Object Properties in the side pane.
  3. Find the glow settings in the Object Properties pane.
  4. Adjust the related parameters and review the result.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The Object Properties pane stays open so you can keep reviewing the result.
  • Next action available: You can combine this with other object formatting settings.

  • Common mistake: If you switch to another object, the current settings target changes with the selection.
