1. Create a New Object
Entry: Insert > Object
- Click the Insert tab on the top menu bar.
- Click Object.
- In the Insert Object dialog box, select Create New.
- In the object type list, choose the object type you want to create, such as a DOC document, DOCX document, Microsoft Excel worksheet, Microsoft Excel chart, or Microsoft PowerPoint slide.
- Click OK to finish the insertion.

- Interface result: A newly inserted object or object container appears on the current slide.
- Next action available: You can double-click the object and continue editing it in the corresponding program.

- Common mistake: If Create New is not selected first, you may enter the create-from-file flow instead.

2. Create an Object from a File
Entry: Insert > Object > Create from File
- Click Object.
- In the Insert Object dialog box, select Create from File.
- Click Browse and choose the file you want to insert.
- If you want a linked object, select Link as needed.
- Click OK to finish the insertion.
