1. Set chart formatting from the ribbon
Entry: Select the chart → Chart Tools tab → Format Selection
- Click the chart to select it.
- Click the Chart Tools tab on the top menu bar.
- In the chart area drop-down list on the right, choose the area you want to format, such as the chart area, plot area, or a series.
- Click Format Selection.
- In the right pane, adjust fill, border, effects, and other chart format settings.

2. Set formatting from the right-click menu
Entry: Chart element → Right-click → Format
- Right-click the target element in the chart.
- Select Format.
