1. Open Text Properties

Entry: Animations tab → Text Properties

  1. Select an object that contains text and already has an animation applied.
  2. Click the Animations tab at the top.
  3. Click Text Properties.
  4. Review the available text playback options.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The Text Properties menu or settings area opens.
  • Next action available: You can continue to choose whole-object playback, paragraph playback, letter playback, or more text animation settings.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If no object is selected first, the text settings may not be available.
  • Environment note: Text Properties works for objects that contain text.

2. Set Play as One Object

Entry: Animations tab → Text PropertiesPlay as One Object

  1. Select an object that contains text and already has an animation applied.
  2. Click Text Properties on the Animations tab.
  3. Select Play as One Object.
  4. Preview the animation and confirm that the text plays as a whole object.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The text object plays as one animated unit.
  • Next action available: You can switch to another text playback mode or save the presentation.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If the selected object does not contain text, the playback effect may not appear as expected.

3. Set Animate by Paragraph

Entry: Animations tab → Text PropertiesAnimate by Paragraph

  1. Select an object that contains text and already has an animation applied.
  2. Click Text Properties.
  3. Select Animate by Paragraph.
  4. Play or preview the animation to confirm that the text appears paragraph by paragraph.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The text content plays in paragraph order.
  • Next action available: You can continue adjusting other animation settings for slide pacing.

  • Common mistake: If the text is not organized into clear paragraphs, the result may be harder to notice.

4. Set Animate by Letter

Entry: Animations tab → Text PropertiesAnimate by Letter

  1. Select an object that contains text and already has an animation applied.
  2. Click Text Properties.
  3. Select Animate by Letter.
  4. Preview the animation to confirm that the text appears character by character.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The text plays character by character.
