1. Open the Animation Pane

Entry: Animations tab at the top of the window → Animation Pane; or right sidebar → Animation → Animation Pane

  1. Open WPS Presentation and go to the slide you want to edit.
  2. Click the Animations tab.
  3. Click Animation Pane to open the panel.
  4. If needed, use the right sidebar, click Animation, and then select Animation Pane.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The Animation Pane opens.
  • What you can do next: You can review the animation list for the current slide and continue editing.

Tips While Using

  • The Animation Pane shows animation effects for the current slide.
  • If the current slide does not have animations yet, the pane may appear empty or show only the available controls.

2. Change or add animation effects

Entry: With the Animation Pane open, use Change Effect, Add Effect, and Delete in the pane

  1. Open the Animation Pane first.
  2. Select the target object or animation on the current slide.
  3. Click Change Effect to update the selected animation type.
  4. Click Add Effect to add a new animation to the selected object.
  5. If you want to remove an animation, click Delete.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: A new effect appears in the animation list, or an existing effect is updated or removed.
  • What you can do next: You can continue setting Start, Direction, Speed, and other playback details.

Tips While Using

  • Confirm that you selected the correct object or animation item before making changes.
  • Delete removes the currently selected animation effect.

3. Adjust animation settings and order

Entry: Start, Direction, Speed, and Reorder in the Animation Pane

  1. In the Animation Pane, select the animation you want to adjust.
  2. Click Start to set how the animation begins.
  3. Click Direction to set the playback direction.
  4. Click Speed to set the playback speed.
  5. Use Reorder to move the animation up or down in the playback sequence.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The animation settings are updated and the list order changes.
  • What you can do next: You can preview the result immediately or continue editing other animations.

Tips While Using

  • The numbers in the animation list help indicate playback order.
  • After reordering, preview the slide to confirm that the pacing matches your expectation.

4. Preview animations on the current slide

Entry: Play, Slide Show, and Auto Preview in the Animation Pane

  1. Open the Animation Pane and finish the settings you need.
  2. Click Play to preview the animation effects on the current slide.
  3. Click Slide Show to start presenting from the current slide.
  4. If you want to see changes automatically while editing, enable Auto Preview.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The current slide plays animations according to your settings.
  • What you can do next: You can continue adjusting effects, settings, or order based on the preview.

Tips While Using

  • Play is useful for a quick check of the current slide.
  • Slide Show is useful when you want to review the slide from a presentation perspective.
