  2. Click the Animations tab.
  3. Click the drop-down button on the right side of the animation gallery to open the full gallery.
  4. Click the animation effect that you want to apply to the current object.

Success Criteria

  • The selected object has an animation effect.
  • You can continue to adjust effect options or timing settings.

Tips While Using

  • Select the object before opening the animation gallery.
  • If no object is selected, the animation will not be applied to the intended content.

2. Choose an animation type

Entry: Animations tab → full animation gallery

  1. Select the target object and open the full animation gallery.
  2. Choose the animation type based on your presentation goal.
  3. Choose an entrance effect if you want the object to appear.
  4. Choose an emphasis effect if you want to highlight an object that is already visible.
  5. Choose an exit effect if you want the object to leave the slide.
  6. Choose Motion Path or Draw Custom Path if you want the object to move along a route.

Success Criteria

  • The object uses an animation type that matches the presentation purpose.
  • The selected animation type fits the intended visual result.

Tips While Using

  • Different animation types fit different presentation rhythms.
  • Too many animations can reduce slide clarity.

3. Adjust animation settings

Entry: Animations tab → dialog launcher in the animation group → More Effect Options

  1. Click the dialog launcher in the lower-right corner of the animation group.
  2. Open the More Effect Options dialog box.
  3. On the Effect tab, adjust settings such as direction and radial options.
  4. Set sound, after-animation behavior, and text animation as needed.
  5. On the Timing tab, set start mode, delay, speed, repeat, and triggers.
  6. On the Animate text tab, set options such as text grouping and interval behavior.

Success Criteria

  • The animation settings are updated as needed.
  • Playback behavior, pacing, or text animation changes accordingly.

Tips While Using

  • Decide the playback order and pacing before changing timing settings.
  • Trigger and repeat settings are more suitable for slides with clear interaction or looping needs.

4. Add multiple animations to one object

Entry: Animation Pane → Add Animation

  1. Open the Animation Pane.
  2. Select the object that already has an animation.
  3. Click Add Animation.
  4. Choose another animation effect and apply it to the same object.
  5. Adjust the order and settings of the multiple animations as needed.

Success Criteria

  • The same object now has multiple animation effects.
  • The effects can play in the intended order.

Tips While Using

  • Selecting a new animation directly may replace the existing one, so use Add Animation to stack effects.
  • When combining multiple animations, check both order and timing settings together.
