1. Open Version History

Entry: Top-right menu icon → Version History

  1. Open a document that has already been saved to WPS Cloud.
  2. Tap the top-right menu icon.
  3. Select Version History from the list.
  4. Review the saved version list for the current document.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: You can see the version list for the current document.
  • Next action available: You can continue to name, preview, restore, or delete a selected version.

Tips While Using

  • Environment limit: This feature is not available for files that have not been saved to WPS Cloud.
  • Environment limit: A working internet connection is required to load version records.

2. Name a Version

Entry: Top-right menu icon → Version History → More options → Name

  1. Open the version history list for the document.
  2. Find the version you want to label.
  3. Tap the ... icon next to that version.
  4. Select Name.
  5. Enter the version name and confirm the action.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The selected version shows the new name.
  • Next action available: You can identify that version more quickly later.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake to avoid: Use clear milestone names so the version is easier to recognize later.

3. Preview a Version

Entry: Top-right menu icon → Version History → More options → Preview

  1. Open the version history list for the document.
  2. Find the version you want to preview.
  3. Tap the ... icon next to that version.
  4. Select Preview.
  5. Review the content of that saved version.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The selected version opens for review.
  • Next action available: You can decide whether to restore that version after checking it.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake to avoid: Preview first so you do not restore the wrong version by mistake.

4. Restore a Version

Entry: Top-right menu icon → Version History → More options → Restore This Version

  1. Open the version history list for the document.
  2. Find the version you want to restore.
  3. Tap the ... icon next to that version.
  4. Select Restore This Version.
  5. Wait for the file to return to that saved state.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The current file content returns to the selected earlier version.
  • Next action available: You can continue editing, saving, or reviewing other versions.

  • Common mistake to avoid: Preview the version before restoring it so you can confirm the content first.

5. Delete a Version

Entry: Top-right menu icon → Version History → More options → Delete Version

  1. Open the version history list for the document.
  2. Find the version you want to remove.
  3. Tap the ... icon next to that version.
  4. Select Delete Version.
  5. Complete the deletion.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The selected version no longer appears in the list.
  • Next action available: You can continue organizing the remaining version records.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake to avoid: Confirm that the version is no longer needed before deleting it.
