1. Turn On Protect Worksheet

Entry path: Tools → Review → Protect Worksheet

  1. Open a spreadsheet in WPS.
  2. Tap Tools at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Select the Review tab.
  4. Tap Protect Worksheet.
  5. Turn on Enable Protection.
  6. Add a protection password if needed, then confirm the password.
  7. Tap OK.
  8. Return to the editing page, then open ToolsReview again and confirm that the Protect Worksheet button appears green.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The Protect Worksheet button appears green.
  • What you can do next: The current worksheet is now in a protected state and normal editing is limited.

Tips While Using

  • If you set a password, keep it in a safe place because you may need it later to remove protection.

2. Remove Protect Worksheet

Entry path: Tools → Review → Protect Worksheet

  1. In a protected spreadsheet, tap Tools at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Select the Review tab.
  3. Tap the green Protect Worksheet button.
  4. If prompted, enter the correct password to complete removal.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The green protection status is removed.
  • What you can do next: The current worksheet becomes editable again.

Tips While Using

  • If a password was set earlier, you need the correct password to remove protection.
  • After protection is removed, the worksheet can be edited again, so you may want to turn protection back on after finishing updates.
