How-to Guide
1. Lock Cells
Feature entry: Tools → Start → Protect Cells → Lock
- Select the cells you want to protect.
- Tap Tools at the bottom and switch to Start.
- Tap Protect Cells and select Lock.
- The selected cells are now set to a locked status.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The selected cells have completed the lock setting.
- Next step available: You can continue to Protect Sheet to apply worksheet-level protection.
Tips While Using
- If you only set the locked status, other people may still be able to edit those cells.
- The locked status takes effect together with Protect Sheet.
2. Set Protect Sheet
Feature entry: Tools → Review → Protect Sheet
- Tap Tools at the bottom and switch to Review.
- Tap Protect Sheet.
- Select the actions users are allowed to perform, such as selecting locked cells or selecting unlocked cells.
- Follow the prompts to confirm the password and finish the setup.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: Worksheet protection is turned on.
- Next step available: Locked cells now follow the worksheet protection rules.
Tips While Using
- If Protect Sheet is not enabled, the earlier lock setting will not restrict editing.
- After you set a password, removing protection later usually requires the same password.
