How-to Guide
1. Insert STEYX from the Insert Function dialog
Entry point: Formulas tab → Insert Function
- Select the cell where you want the result to appear.
- Click the fx button in the formula bar, or click Insert Function on the Formulas tab.
- Search for STEYX in the dialog box.
- Select the function and click OK.
- Enter the required arguments in the Function Arguments dialog.
- Click OK to finish the formula entry.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: the target cell shows a STEYX calculation result.
- You can continue: you can still edit arguments, copy the formula, or fill it downward.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: if the argument area includes text, spaces, or incorrect references, the result may return an error.
- Environment note: the x-value range and y-value range should stay aligned.
2. Type the STEYX formula directly in a cell
Entry point: Cell / formula bar
- Select the cell where you want to enter the formula.
- Type
=STEYX(...)directly in the cell or in the formula bar. - Press Enter to confirm.
- If you want to reuse it, drag the fill handle to copy the formula to other cells.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: the cell returns a calculated result instead of plain text.
- You can continue: you can edit the arguments in the formula bar or copy the formula elsewhere.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: if the entry does not start with an equals sign, it is treated as plain text.
- Common mistake: non-English commas may affect formula recognition, so use standard commas between arguments.
3. Check STEYX syntax and arguments
Entry point: Formulas tab → Insert Function
- Click Insert Function on the Formulas tab.
- Type STEYX in the search box.
- Select the function and review the syntax and argument area.
- If a help entry is available in the window, open it for more details and then return to complete the arguments.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: you can see the function name, argument fields, or syntax prompt.
- You can continue: you can return to the worksheet and enter or correct the formula based on the prompt.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: checking only the function name without confirming argument order can lead to unexpected results.
- Environment note: the help entry location may vary slightly by interface layout, but it is usually inside the Insert Function workflow.
